What's New?
Venmo is now available as an additional payment method alongside PayPal and PayPal Pay Later. This provides your customers with more flexibility and convenience during checkout.
How It Works / What You Need to Do?
No additional setup is required. If Venmo is supported in the payer’s region, the Venmo button will automatically appear along with existing PayPal and PayPal Pay Later options.
Why It Matters
- Venmo is a mobile-first payment app, designed for quick and easy transactions directly from mobile devices.
- It’s extremely popular among younger audiences, including teens who can open Venmo teen accounts, helping merchants reach a growing segment of digital-native buyers.
- Offering Venmo can increase checkout conversions, especially in the U.S., where it’s one of the most trusted and widely used peer-to-peer payment methods.
- Customers can use their existing Venmo balance, linked bank, or card, hence reducing friction and simplifying the payment process.
What's Next?
We’re continuing to expand payment method coverage - including upcoming support for direct Credit/Debit Card processing, allowing payments without redirecting to the PayPal page
